Korea will invest $ 20 million on the cultivation of medicinal plants in the Issyk-Kul region

Bishkek, October 9 /Kabar/. First Vice Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan taiyrbek Sarpashev received a Korean delegation led by Kim Yong Seok being the mayor of the city Yong Chong, the province of Kyung San Buk To, reports Department of information support the government office of the KR.

T. Sarpashev appreciated signed a Memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of agriculture and melioration of KR and G. Yong Chon on cooperation in the development of agriculture and animal husbandry in the Issyk-Kul region. In the framework of the Memorandum at the initial stage will be raised over 20 million dollars for the cultivation of medicinal plants, their processing and development of greenhouses in Tyup district of Issyk-Kul oblast.

First Vice Prime Minister expressed confidence that the signed Memorandum will be a real incentive for the Korean businessmen to actively invest in the country’s agriculture.

“The government is interested in the actual expanding trade and economic relations with Korea. Agriculture is the most promising direction of mutually advantageous cooperation. Offer the Korean side to actively implement new technologies in the agricultural sector and to invest in the development of drip irrigation. In Issyk-Kul oblast there are more than 100 thousand hectares of land for irrigation vedenyapino. City Yong Jeong known in Korea as the center of traditional medicine and the main producer of medicinal herbs. First Vice Prime Minister also invited the Korean side to invest in the construction of logistics centers and large vegetable stores.

Kim Yong Seok said that Korean businessmen are interested in investing in the Kyrgyz economy. “If we look only at the example of the city Yong Chon, investors wishing to invest their capital in different sectors of agriculture of Kyrgyzstan very much.
