This modern draped ceiling, by designer and planner Tara Guerard, takes the black-and-white checkerboard dance floor and literally turns it around for a totally unexpected look. For an otherwise classic, formal wedding at Marlsgate Plantation in Scott, Arkansas, this lounge area was the perfect place to let loose a little with the design. The draped ceiling adds a fun twist to the other elegant details, like the navy and white color palette, comfy living-room-style seating and damask print details.
By keeping the menu to simple, easy fare, you can avoid the high maintenance and cost of extravagant menu options. The meal isn’t meant to be the star of the reception, so choosing some staple dishes and desserts can keep your wedding costs low while letting the celebration of your marriage stay in the spotlight. A simple backyard wedding can still be beautiful.
Go big or go home. Thats what wedding planner Marcy Blum did when she and her team created this ultra-dramatic, all-red wedding reception. An added benefit of all that saturated color was that it took a very large space with high ceilings and created a more intimate vibe.
